It is time for the second annual Charge It For CHARGE Campaign. This is a fundraiser for the CHARGE Syndrome Foundation. It is a wonderful organization that has helped us tremendously over the years. We found this organization after our daughter, Makenna, was diagnosed with CHARGE syndrome. Makenna was born with many life threatening conditions. We were originally told IF she lived she would be deaf, blind, severely mentally retarded and lay in a bed the rest of her life. Makenna has fought a tough battle since the second she was born. She has undergone 20 surgeries in her eight years of life. She has spent an unbelievable amount of time in the hospital and has endured countless painful procedures. However, to meet Makenna today you would never guess the things she has overcome. She is a spirited, funny, sweet, smart eight year old that participates in horseback riding, baseball, dance, Sunday school, and everything that goes along with being in second grade. -The Second Annual Charge It for CHARGE - General Donation- to donate and or visit the CHARGE Syndrome Foundation. The foundation has given us so much information regarding CHARGE syndrome. It has enables us to meet other families living with CHARGE syndrome. It has given us information for Makenna's teachers, doctors and therapists. The foundation has assisted us in providing Makenna with all the resources she needs to be a successful individual now and in the future!
